Pumps and piping on an integrated Filter Press system

01

Feed pump function

The feed pump supplies slurry with the flow and pressure pattern required by the cycle. Selection considers fluid properties, solids, capacity, pressure, materials, and control method.

02

Squeezing pump function

On a Membrane Filter Press, a squeezing pump can deliver media to the membrane after feeding. This circuit is separate from slurry and must follow plate and system limits.

03

Valves and instrumentation

Valves direct flow while pressure indicators, transmitters, flow information, and pump status support sequencing and diagnosis. The actual arrangement follows the project P&ID.

04

Evaluate the complete system

A pump should not be assessed only by motor size or nozzle diameter. Suction conditions, piping losses, slurry behavior, control philosophy, maintenance access, and protection should be reviewed together.
