Filtration comes first

Slurry first fills the chambers and liquid exits through the filter cloth. The initial cake forms from retained solids. Membrane squeezing does not replace feeding and filtration.

Membrane squeezing principle

After the chambers are filled, the squeezing medium presses the membrane to apply additional pressure to the cake. Lines, medium, pressure, and sequence must match the plate and machine design.

Results depend on process conditions

Particle characteristics, cake compressibility, chamber thickness, cloth condition, feeding, and process duration affect the result. A result from one sludge should not be treated as a guarantee for another.
