Plate assembly on an industrial Filter Press
Follow the closing, feeding, filtration, optional squeezing, opening, and cake discharge stages in one Filter Press cycle.
01

Closing and clamping

Before feeding, the plate pack must be aligned and the closing system must provide the designed clamping force. Interlocks should prevent feed from entering before the closure is safe.

02

Feeding and cake formation

The feed pump moves slurry into the chambers. Filtrate passes through the filter cloth while solids gradually fill the available space. Pressure and flow trends should be interpreted together rather than as isolated values.

03

Configuration-dependent stages

Some systems add membrane squeezing, core blowing, air blowing, or cloth washing. These stages are not present on every Filter Press and must follow the machine design and procedure.

04

Opening and cake discharge

After pressure is released and safe conditions are met, the plates open. Cake may fall by gravity or with help from a plate-shifting mechanism while the operator checks residual cake and cloth condition.
