01

Purpose of thickening

Thickening increases solids concentration by removing part of the free water. It differs from final dewatering and should be evaluated as feed preparation for the next unit.

02

Conditioning and the rotary drum

Polymer-conditioned sludge enters a rotating drum. Water passes through the screen or media while flocs move toward the thickened-sludge outlet.

03

Washing and filtrate collection

A spray system helps clean the media and filtrate collection receives separated water. Nozzle, screen, drainage, and polymer conditions affect operating stability.

04

Use in an integrated system

Dayasa Aria Prima documentation shows a Rotary Drum Thickener integrated with a PAM Unit, Membrane Filter Press, pumps, and instrumentation in one process line.
