Forming filtration chambers
When plates are assembled and closed, their surfaces form spaces that receive slurry. Chamber geometry and total volume depend on the plate type and quantity.
Supporting the filtration media
Filter cloth sits on the plate surface and retains solids. The plate supports the cloth as differential pressure develops during feeding.
Directing filtrate flow
Liquid passing through the cloth moves through drainage patterns toward filtrate outlets. Blocked passages can affect flow distribution and should be checked during maintenance.
Selection is not based on size alone
Material, chamber type, design pressure, temperature, chemical compatibility, port arrangement, and washing requirements must be matched. Replacement plates should meet the machine specification.
