Start with the feed and separation target
Particle size and shape, solids concentration, viscosity, abrasiveness, and filtrate clarity targets help narrow media choices.
Consider operating compatibility
Cloth material should suit temperature, pH, chemistry, pressure, and washing method. A material name alone is insufficient without process-condition data.
Cake release and cleanliness
Cloth surface and construction affect cake release and cleaning. Retained cake should be recorded together with feed and cycle conditions.
Test and document results
For unfamiliar feed, sample testing or a controlled trial is safer than guessing. Record filtrate, cycle time, cake condition, washing, and pressure-drop changes.
